My research aims to reveal the established processes of unconscious human
actions such as walking, talking, and so on. Its methodology looks into
drama actions as collaborative works between the director and actors and
actresses. To observe human actions, I visited the drama rehearsals directed
by Oriza Hirata or Shogo Ohta, for instance. The actions performed by actors
and actresses as body and voice expressions and the words uttered by the
director provide abundant food for thought to investigate authentic “real”
actions.
Since October 2005, I have worked for the project by the Japan Science and Technology Agency,
Foundation of technology supporting the creation of digital media contents,
as a PRESTO researcher to apply my findings to the technology (outline).

Concerning my applied themes, I also conducted deposition analyses of
suspects seemingly falsely accused at criminal trials.

Perhaps at first glance the relationship among the above (dramas, court
trials, and robots) seems elusive, but they share one thing: an

artificial/unnatural situation, which is more highly restricted than our
daily lives. Even under such harsh situations, people try to locate meaning and reach others.
